CHEN Kaixian, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Professor of the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica (SIMM), CAS, Professor and Director of the Academic Committee of the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SHUTCM), has been engaged in the development of new drugs and drug design research. Currently, he serves as Deputy Chief Specialist of the General Expert Team on the National Science and Technology Major Project “Innovative Drug Research and Development”, member of the academic department of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, and Editor in Chief of several journals such as Progress in Pharmaceutical Sciences. He once served as chairman of the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology, Director General of the SIMM, CAS, and President of SHUTCM and so on.
