On 29th March, the Innovative Medical Devices Forum of the 7th China BioMed Innovation and Investment Conference (CBIIC) was successfully held at the Suzhou Jinji Lake International Convention Centre.

At the support of the PhIRDA Innovative Medical Devices Specialty Committee, the Innovative Medical Devices Forum, as a professional forum in the filed of medial devices, made its debut at the 7th CBIIC. With keynote speeches and panel discussion, the forum presented results of innovative development of the medical devices industry in China in recent years, and engaged in a in-depth discussion of challenges to future development of the medical devices industry in China. The stage of keynote speech is co-chaired by Wang Guangzhi, professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Tsinghua University, and chairman of PhIRDA Innovative Medical Devices Specialty Committee, and Wang Jingjing, secretary-general of PhIRDA Innovative Medical Devices Specialty Committee and executive director of Global Healthcare Innovation Center.

Panel Discussion, participants engaged in in-depth exchanges focusing on Opportunities and Innovation Directions for the Development of Innovative Medical Devices in China under the New Situation. Tian Yuan, vice-chairman of PhIRDA Innovative Medical Devices Specialty Committee, chairman of Mevion Medical Systems, and founding partner of Yuanming Capital, Gu Lixu, member of PhIRDA Innovative Medical Devices Specialty Committee, and vice president of Med-X Research Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Peng Yifei, senior vice president of Tigermed, and Fiona Yu, partner of Northern Light Venture Capital, participated in the discussion. Li Ping, member of PhIRDA Innovative Medical Devices Specialty Committee and vice president of BD Greater China, chaired the panel.

Panel Discussion

Guests explained the impact brought by the review and approval reform on the promotion of innovation in the medical devices industry, and pointed out measures for optimizing high-quality development and bright future of this industry. From the perspective of capital, they all believed the bright future of the innovative medical devices market, and highlighted innovative products have been a priority in national policy support and industrial investment. Against the background of industrial development entering into a new stage, it is necessary to strengthen original innovative capacity and the coordination among departments to promote the sound development of the medical devices industry in China.
